Merry Christmas from the Handleys

Happy Holidays everyone!  Sorry to have been missing in blog action lately.  Life is taking over all my online fun.  We are heading up to MD tomorrow afternoon as soon as Jason gets of work (grrrr..)  Today was Ty’s one year check-up with the pediatrician.  It’s the first time he has seen one since he was 4 months old (they use GP’s only in the UK) and the visit was just OK.  Obviously Ty is a superstar and very healthy (thank god) but I have yet to find a doc for him that i really like.  Suggestions welcome. 

Ty is weighing in at 27 lbs (feels like 57) which still keeps him in the 90th (900th?) percentile.  He is currently going through the office drawers while I type and ripping checks out of the checkbook so I must keep this short and sweet.

We have had such a crazy year – but we are so happy it’s coming to a close in the US instead of the UK this year.  It’s so great to be back.  Thanks to everyone who has helped make our move easier by lending home goods, furniture, money or babysitting.  THANK YOU! 

Jason and I are so lucky right now to have jobs we like, a babysitter for Ty who is quality and a great place to live.  Bring on 2009 baby!  xoxoxo

time to settle in!

Ty & I have now been back in America for almost 2 months.  Jason has been back about 5 weeks.  Did you know that we have been living out of 3 suitcases this entore time?!  Crazy!  And what’s even crazier… it actually has been kind of nice.  Everything has been very neat and organized – I always know what I am going to wear – there are not toys everywhere.. until YESTERDAY.  When we woke up at 7 to find this in our driveway.

Our stuff survived pirates and customs officials!  Only 3 weeks late and after numerous ‘over-weight charges’ (scam) and delays; Jason and I finally have all of our earthly posessions.  Am I excited?  NO.  My neat and organized house now looks like a box-store exploded and blew-up the Toys R’ Us next to it.  Wish us luck.

Handleys Holiday snaps

courtesy of my sis-in-law, Kristan!  We have never had any ‘real’ family pictures taken and Ty is almost one, so we thought it was about time.  We went to Pullen Park here in Raleigh and did about an hour (in the FREEZING cold) trying to get Ty to smile and jumping around like idiots.  Luckily, we got a few smiles from him, but he was not really a hppy camper for some reason.  Maybe it’s the hat.  Here are a few that didn;t make the Christmas card cut.
