Our car boot sale (large group yard sale) on Sunday was definitely something not to forget in our British adventures. OH MY GOD – total mayhem. Thank goodness we had been warned about the HOARDS of people attacking cars upon entry to the grounds – or else we really would have been frightened. But I did not think it would be as bad as it was! Jason and I drove in with Ty and our car loaded down with junk only to be followed to our spot by about 20 people. By the time we parked and looked at each other there were probably 30 crazies surrounding the car. It felt like a day in the life of Britney Spears! As soon as we opened our doors they pounced and began pulling this out of our car and trunk and fighting over them. It was so bizarre! Dude – all we have are some Ikea lamps and some old baby stuff! It was completely overwhelming and the whole thing probably lasted 10 minutes. We easily got rid of 70% of our stuff in 10 minutes and then NOTHING. It was like the swarm disappeared and attacked someone else selling old shoes and coffee makers. We made about 85 GBP though – not too shabby for 48 hours of back breaking work!
umm.. a little over excited about new big boy pajamas
I wish I had gotten of video was him coughing a few minutes later and the golf ball flying out of his mouth across the room! I was on the floor laughing. What an entertaining (and random) child.
I can’t believe Ty turned 9 months old yesterday – totally crazy. Jason kept saying, ‘9 months on the inside – 9 months on the outside.’ **THIS JUST IN** Edited post to add another tooth!! It’s so satisfying to see these things come in. It’s like, ‘Oh, that’s why you have made my life hell the past few days!’ That’s tooth #7!

And this pic speaks for itself! Thank GOD things are going well with the house sale – every morning the news brings more and more awful news of the housing market – we are really really lucky to be dumping this house (and mortgage) on someone else!
Woot!
God, that is a satisfying picture to me. No more mad cleaning before a showing or worry that it won’t sell and we will be stuck in this country until 2015.
After the ridiculous amount of rain we had this week – this weekend actually turned out to be quite decent (for GB) and we took full advantage. I was able to take 2 (short) walks with Ty and his new Chicco Backpack (will get pics soon). It is handy but OMG is he heavy. I guess just like his sling – my muscles need to get used to it. He hasn’t been weighed since his 6-month appt – but I swear he must weigh 70 lbs.
Today we headed into Birmingham to do a bit of shopping and ended up staying most of the day. We didn’t know but there was a huge art & music festival and along with our friend Murph and the sunshine – we had a great day. Ty was an absolute angel and enjoyed all of the people (and freak) watching that always accompanies a festival.
I don’t know where the time has been going! It’s not that we have doing anything super exciting either. Ty is great – he has been being pretty hilarious most of the time and learning new things everyday. Last night Jason taught him to give ‘high-fives.’ This is definitely the most fun we have had with him so far – it’s great now that he can interact a bit more with you.
have you ever been this happy in your life?
Sorry I don’t have time for more today – hopefully tomorrow I can post more. Jason and I are heading to see Pinapple Express tonight while our friend Murph stays with Ty. Hasta Luego!
Yesterday Jason & I took Ty and our new American friend (James Murphy.. aka Murph) to Stratford-Upon-Avon for a little pub crawl. Stratford is a great place for it – you can hop on the train straight there (no driving) and there are a hundred pubs – many on the water – that are so old and scenic. It was a pretty crummy day – but the rain did manage to hold out most of the time we were there. We all had a good time – that is until we went to catch the train home and it was cancelled due to flooding. *sigh* Public transportation in England works great – when it works.

It is 1:30 in the afternoon here and I just realized this! OMG. That is really blowing my mind right now. Especially because it is cool and crisp here today and when i woke up with Ty at 6 – it was still dark. Oh no! This only makes me think of one thing.. winter is coming. And that means I will have a one year old child. NO WAY. I am not ready for a 1 year old. I am not sure I am ready for an 8 month old This year had absolutely flown by.
Jason & I had a really fun weekend.. we went to the movies for the 1st time since Ty was born (how lame is that?) We saw Step-Brothers. I think it came out in the US months ago. The UK is a little behind. My friend Aysel babysat for us (thank you!) and we had a great time. The movie is hilarious, btw. We had so much fun on Friday night that we decided to go out on Saturday too! Our good friend and Jason’s co-worker, James, was promoted to Cornwall and they were having a party for him. We had alot of fun and paid for it the next day for sure (ok, well I did).
Now I am going to subject you to more pictures of my adorable & hilarious child. You have been warned.
Thanks for the awesome shirt and ball, Mee Maw
tasty
look ma, no hands!
Thanks for humoring me. He is absolutely hilarious lately. So much fun. He is really doing alot of mimicking – what is very funny. If you sneeze, he sneezes. Same with coughing, laughing, clapping and shaking his head no. That is the funniest thing. Jason is always like ‘Ty, do you love Mommy best?’ and he shakes his head no. Hiss! He is still doing alot of ‘mama’ ‘dada’ ‘ball’ and starting ‘doggies.’
Last but not least – I know I shouldn’t say anything (haven’t I learned my lesson? obv not) BUT WE COMPLETED THE PAPERWORK ON OUR HOUSE THIS WEEKEND AND IT IS NOW OFFICIALLY UNDER CONTRACT Thank you Lord. Every morning the news depresses me with the downturn of the housing market and we have been so lucky to have so much interest in out house. I hope it ’stcisk’ this time (I think it will) and hopefully we will be outte here in a few months. Where to.. we have no idea!
