Stoneleigh Festival

Yesterday was a Bank Holiday here in the UK – woo hoo!  It was actually decent weather for once as well – amazing.  Jason, Ty & I headed to the Stoneleigh Park Country Festival not far from us in Coventry.  This really is my favorite fair – I went 3 years ago and LOVED it.  Tons of shopping, eating, shows, people watching, eating (!) and animals – what could be better!?  My mom and sister would really have loved this – I wish they could have been there

We had a really nice day and this wrapped up Jason’s 12 day long holiday nicely.  But it was back to work for him this morning which means back to work (with Ty) for me too!  Jason’s birthday was Friday so we have been having alot of fun lately – back to reality now.  xoxo

Toys R’ Free

In this age of ‘credit crunching’ and cutting back – what’s a young (yes, young!) family to do on a rainy afternoon when money is tight?  Ty is bored with his old toys, we are bored watching him be bored with his old toys.. you get the picture.  So it’s off to Toys R’ Us for us!  You can play with all the toys under the sun for atleast an hour – until they catch on to you and ask you to buy something

OK, I rarely get on my soapbox about child rearing, diet or much else but baby drivel on here – but check this out.  This is ridiculous!  What are you preparing your child for a future buy buying this?  Dropping out of high school or obesity?  (now, if it were Taco Bell I might buy it..

I always seem to do that about things.  You guys may realize this.  I guess it’s because I am sort of a blabber mouth and I always jump the gun on secrets. Jeez.  It seems to happen to me everyday.  As soon as I say to someone Ty sleeps through the night every night – he wakes up.  When I cook a great meal and rave about my culinary expertise to someone – I can’t cook toast the next morning.  And when I annouce to my friends and fam that we finally have an acceptable offer on our house – it falls through the next day. *le sigh*  Back to the drawing board.  And back to keeping my big mouth shut!

I was aiming to get some pictures before Ty’s bath this evening of him with no clothes on.  It is so funny to see his gut hanging over the top of his diaper!  I know he is not ‘fat’ – just healthy – but it’s still funny.  But unfortch, when he knows its bath time – he will not sit still.  So this was the best I could do.   enjoy…

He finally said it!  Jason was ecstatic obviously.  Ty has been saying Mama for about 2 months now – it has been killing Jason.  He also has that 6th tooth coming through – so that’s 4 on top and 2 on the bottom.  I can’t believe all 4 came through in 2 weeks – it must have been so painful.  He has been a little more fussy during the day, but is still sleeping through the night most night.  THANK GOD.  I still love knowing i have baby-free time from 7 pm to 6 am.  Bliss.

We have been mostly just relaxing this weekend.  Jason traveled most of last week to the States, so we had a bit of sleep and chillin’ to catch up on.  It has gotten shockingly cool here as well (the heat is back on) so it feels extra nice under the covers or in pajamas.  It actually feels like Thanksgiving for some reason.  Which makes us both think of Christmas and how awesome this Christmas will be with Ty.  I can’t wait.  We are still hoping to be living back in America by that time so it will be our first Christmas home in 3 years.

Wanna buy a house??  We have had our home up for sale for about 6 weeks now and have had a good offer that we have accepted – THANK GOD.  It’s obviously not what we had hoped for – but it’s very good nonetheless considering today’s market.  I really feel for the people who are having trouble selling their house both here and in America.  It’s awful having to clean all the time!!

Yesterday was Jason’s annual work summer party in Birmingham.  It was held at the Malt House - a canalside pub.  Ty was really working his baby mojo and was a big hit with all the ladies.  Though we were meant to leave by 6:30 to get Ty home to bed – that didn’t really happen… we finally made it home at 11:30 and he did fantastic.
