How come I still hate Mondays even when I don’t work anymore? There is just an icky feeling associated with Mondays, ya know? Regardless of what you do for a living I guess. Even Ty feels it apparently – as he was a royal pain in the booty most of the day (and is continuing to whine as I type). He is sleeping much better at night, but naps are a whole different matter. Some days he will fight me all day even when he is so exhausted he can barely keep his eyes open. Today is a day like that. Oh well, 6:30 is fast approaching (my fave time of the day) and that means sweet relief! Jason comes home! We had a super quiet (aka boring) weekend – so not much report…
Jason made Ty his own ghetto ball pit. Who needs Chucky Cheese?
I did get to escape ‘24-hr babyland’ for a little this weekend and hang with some good friends; Julie & Lisa. Bunko!
as I came into Ty’s room the other day and he was STANDING in his crib about to topple over. So it was time to lower it ASAP. I figure that should buy us atleast another month until he figures out how to build a rope ladder out of his sheets.
Baby cage – ‘lemme out!’
future cage dancer?
Stay tuned for crawling this week as well. It is pretty much happening – he hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet though (thank goodness). I give it 3 more days.
are finally in! I am so glad we were able to get some with Ty. Even though it was only about 6 weeks ago – I can’t believe how different he looks. Pam & I both decided he looks kinda like Mini-Me(from Austin Powers)! weird!
There are literally hundreds more fantastic ones on her photog’s website – http://landonjacob.com/ Pam & Richard are the featured wedding.. but all the pics are available under Client Proofing- password is our maiden name
Jason is back today – Woot! I thought 3 night & days with Ty would kill me, but honestly – he has been pretty good. I think we are both finally close to recovery from this super-cold we had – and he is much more pleasant. Another huge factor was the timely arrival of a WONDERFUL package from my wonderful mother (and Ty’s Mee-Maw!) yesterday containing the Jumpy Jumparoo! JOY! I actually took a shower yesterday and vacuumed. Amazing.
I thought I would surprise Jason while he was gone with a new look for Ty (though I already caved and told him what I did). He got a haircut! Not that he had much hair to cut obviously, but enough to trim and style. Whadduthink?
Could he look anymore like Jason now?
i have no idea what this face is about.. some sort of rage… or excitement
Jason flies back into Heathrow this afternoon at the same time an American Enterprise friend flies in – so they are driving up together and we have a houseguest! Should be fun I am sure a trip to Morton’s will be in order this afternoon for pizza and pints. TGIF!
having fun, sleeping, relaxing, taking care of a baby! TY IS 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY! That is so hard to believe. Six months ago was December 17th and most of my day was spent in labor. Or as they spell it in England, labour. However you spell it – it was not fun. And after 24 hours and no Ty – it was time for the c-section. Which really was a piece of cake compared to the labor! And about 10 minutes later, at 6:06 pm Jason and I had a little boy weighing 8lbs and 1 oz
doesn’t this look glam & fun? NHS at it’s best
And now look how big he is these are from this afternoon…
and obviously excited about his 6 month birthday
and then on to lunch at Morton’s with my glam friend, Kate. Hey girl! :) (i want your life please)
it’s not easy to get a decent pic with Ty (an example… *smack!*)
Apologies now for the picture overload – but it is fun to look back. xoxo
Happy Father’s Day all you daddies out there! We had a rather nice – but not relaxing day (surprise, surprise). Ty & I got up early so Jason could sleep (after staying up late to watch golf..poo) and made his fave – bacon & french toast. Then we all headed into Birmingham for some suit and work-shoe shopping for him. I don’t think I have ever been to the Bull Ring and NOT bought something. But it was all about Jason so I tried to restrain myself. He really needed a new ‘lucky’ interview suit and some new shirts and shoes to go with. It’s really hard for him shopping over here though because the styles are sooo different. The suits are really cute tight through the thigh and leg (good for me!) but very trendy – not very professional. And the shoes! Most of the mens dress shoes are completed pointed toe! weird… But all in all we had a nice day, Ty acted a bit crazy especially in the evening – but I guess he is still sick or something.
I think I forgot to add this last week too.. Ty was weighed a week ago and weighs almost 20 lbs. His weight has really hit a plateau – he has only gained like 1 lb in 2 months! Better for my back though. And his wardrobe. I was having trouble keeping him clothed. And he had his 6 month shots last week – he was a champ! The nurse said she had never seen a baby not even flich – let alone cry! I think it’s because his thighs are so enormously fat – he could even feel the needles. (wonder where he gets that from *sigh*)
And I have been meaning to post about this for awhile now… Many of you may already know about the studies coming out finding dangerous substances in most brands of plastic baby bottles. But I recently found out that Babies R’ Us is (kindly?) doing an unadvertised voluntary recall of all bottles and giving store credit for all bottles returned. How crazy! These bottles muct really be trouble for them to be doing this. Apparently these bottles will all be recalled in December of this year in the USA. Great – I have atleast $100+ worth of Dr. Brown’s bottles that I recently purchased. I talked to the Babies R’ Us peeps over here and they wouldn’t give me credit for them. Poo. So I had to order Born Free bottles from Canada – don’t we all wished we owned stock in that company! Four bottles cost me $75. OMG. Better safe than sorry. If you know people using plastic bottles – make sure they have this info, okay? They may be able to return all their bottles (no receipts, no boxes) for store credit at Babies R’ Us – I have friends who have done it.
PICS FROM THE WEEKEND
I love this one! Man, does he love bathtime… I wonder how many hours a day I can keep him in there – it’s one of the only times he really happy. And you can see his teeth in this pic
in Birmingham on Sunday
and enjoying his first (disgustingly messy) teething biscuit
Well, have a good week peeps. Ours in not starting out very well (FUSSY baby this am..grrr) and is going to be pretty busy. Jason is traveling for work on Wednesday, Thurs & Friday and I may die handling Ty by myself those 3 days. Wish us luck! xoxo
because i was just chastised by her for not posting yet this week. I can’t even say it’s because i’m so busy with my of-so-exciting life (not!) – i’m just still so sick! Today is really the worst. I should be laying on the sofa in pj’s while eating chicken soup and sleeping. But oh no, I am taking care of a child who feels as bad as I probably do and needs more attention than Paris Hilton. This day can’t end quick enough. So no more bitching – here are some pics.
PEA PARTY
SUNDAY IN THE PARK
THIS AFTERNOON ON THE SWINGS – 1ST TIME (yep – we are all still in pajamas today)
That’s my new name for Ty this weekend. I thought the amount of drool he produced was amazing… it doesn’t even come close to the amount of snot this kid’s got. I feel so bad about taking him to that class now – I am sure he infected every child there with his super-snot. So he has been extra cranky and needy due to this cold – poor Ty (and mommy). But the midwife warned me that chicken-pox is running rampant in our neighborhood and in the baby classes this month and it starts with a runny nose. EEK! I don’t see any spots – so I am sure he is fine but I am keeping a close eye.
Yesterday my friend Aysel & I took Ty into the town center for some shopping. Of course I took every opportunity to dress Ty up and take pictures for our amusement
can you see Ty trying to give a shout out in this pic?
Then we headed home and had Friday Happy Hour in the garden with Jason and a new friend (Jason did this – not me )
