..atleast for a week or so! Ty & I are off to Charleston tomorrow with limited access to the Internet. We are renting a car and hauling a bunch of wedding supplies up to the beach house for Pam and Richard’s wedding on Friday (www.pamandrichard.com) in Mt. Pleasant. Their wedding is on Friday, we are hittin’ the town on Saturday and then doing the looong drive up to MD on Sunday (with my parents + their dog, eek.) Then Ty & I fly off to the UK on Monday. I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. We arrived in the States on February 27th! It’s pretty much May already! WOW. Speaking of May, May 17th is Jason & my 5th wedding anniversary. Wild. Anyhow, I have very mixed emotions about our long trip coming to an end. I have had a great time and have loved visiting and loved the weather, but I miss Jason very much. He hasn’t seen Ty since the end of March and I can’t wait for him to see how much he has changed.
Yesterday Pam, Richard, Ty & I went to Sea World in Orlando. It took us about 2.5 hrs to get there (after a donut-hole stop, of course) and we had a good time. It’s definitely not as magical as my visit as a 10-year old, but entertaining. It also made me realize how our parents must have felt when they took us; exhausted, probably irritated and BROKE. We had lots of laughs though – it was another gorgeous day in FL – and I am very glad we did it.
We are up bright and early off to see Shamoo in the am. Should be fun… haven’t been since I was 11. I think Ty will enjoy it. He has been quite a character lately – he found his feet this week and is pretty close to sitting up on his own for extended periods of time
Taking a baby to the beach is HARD! It is almost impossible to keep him in the shade the whole time. And he is just starting to put everything in his mouth including anything covered in sand. ew. Today was his 3rd day going to the beach and I have finally started to get the hang of it. Carseats under umbrellas work well. He is sleeping now after a long day of not napping and Pam, Richard & I are working on wedding things. I can’t believe I leave for Charleston 1 week from today! Where has the time gone? This really means our US trip is coming to a close. I am having a great time but am also anxious to see Jason and get this Ty-baby into a real routine. Maybe we can all start getting some real sleep for a change. Ty is still waking between 3-10 times a night for whatever reason. This is getting OLD. Last night was 10 timer. Thank goodness Pam & Richard took him from me for a few hours this morning so I could get some sleep. THANK YOU guys!

Friday night Pam & I went to the Tristan Prettyman concert here in Jacksonville. I put her myspace link – you should all have a listen. We had such a great time – went early for drinks – and stayed late to meet Tristan and her band. Thank you babysitter Richard!

WE ARE IN FLORIDA! Ty & I arrived in Jacksonville yesterday afternoon to stay with Pam for a week or 2. This flight was considerably shorter than the last (obv.) and was a piece of cake. Ty got a bit fussy while waiting to board and I am sure all of my fellow passengers were thinking ‘oh god, please don’t sit next to me.’ But as soon as we sat down and he got his bottle he slept the entire way! He has a pretty bad cold and is still getting over his last set of shots so I thought the flight could be a nightmare. Hopefully the HOT HOT sun in FL will dry him right up Here we are in front of Pam’s cutie-pie house yesterday…

nothing much to report today – i am typing one-handed with ty in his sling so please excuse the typos. we are in the natural history museum again today just exploring and using the computer. i can’t believe it’s the 7th already! ty and i leave for FL in 9 days and i can’t wait. the weather in MD feels like england! jason told me it snowed 3 inches in the UK this weekend, so i guess it could be worse.

Just a quick update for ya from Dial-up City, Maryland while this massive child sleeps in his sling and is breaking my back. Ty had his first ‘real’ pediatricians appt. yesterday which went well and gave us alot to think about. First of all, Ty is now in the 97th percentile for weight for his age and is roughly the size of a small pony. The doctor kindly informed me he appears to be getting enough to eat. And probably does not need to continue eating 3x during the night anymore. (like I could stop him if I tried) He also discussed at length with me the difficulties of having a ‘hyperactive and difficult child’ (his words, not mine) and suggested I may eventually need counseling. WHAT!? Ty is the one who needs counseling. But everything was fine – Ty is obviously big healthy and is just very good at knowing what he wants and knowing how to get it. (CRYING LOUDLY)
The weather in Maryland is poo and I am looking forward to going to FL in 2 weeks and getting some sunshine. I think my Mom & I are going to Mount Vernon tomorrow so I should have some pictures of that shortly… xoxo
