Entries from September 2007
Hope the weather is better wherever YOU are! Atleast I have the day off – can’t complain about that. Last night Jason & I went to the Grand Opening of a restaurant in our neighborhood, Da Vinci’s. It was a bit of an ‘older crowd’ (ie lots of bowties) but we had a good time. I’ve got my butt squeezed into the only stretchy dress I have – but I don’t think you can really tell it’s not maternity! (hopefully)

Just a quickie update –
Saturday was our first Hypnobirthing class! It was good – there were 2 other couples there and me being the over-eager student I am, I was the only one to have already pre-read the entire book. I could have taught the class! It was good for Jason though. And we do have 3 more left – every Saturday for the next 3 weeks. Hypnobirthing seems cool – and if it really works – I am not going to be able to shut-up about it! Saturday afternoon was spent ripping bookshelves out of Muppet’s ’soon-to-be’ nursery and making room for the crib. That was some really hard work (for Jason
and I promise to post before-and-after pics when it is completed.
Sunday was the British Masters (golf) at the Belfry. I have a few pics (had to smuggle in the camera). If anyone was bored enough to watch it on TV – Jason made a few appearances! This first pic if him pushing in on the guy who eventually went on to win it…
can you find Jason?

Have a great week everyone! It is FREEZING over here!!! xoxoxo

DO PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN SAY ANYTHING THEY WANT TO A PREGNANT WOMAN??!!
I am home from work right now changing my clothes on my lunch hour. Why? Because apparently I look like I am carrying twins today! I know people probably don’t mean to be insulting and down right rude – but you shouldn’t say things like that to a large, already-hormonal person! That is the second comment about ‘twins’ I have gotten in the past few weeks. I KNOW I am an average size – so maybe they are comparing me to Nicole Richie or something?
Anyhow – sorry to vent – I think I work in the type of environment as well that people feel it’s OK to comment on your appearance? The woman this morning (after finding out i still have 11 weeks to go) actually said (screamed) ‘BLIMEY – ARE YOU POSITIVE IT’S NOT TWINS??!!’ I pretty much just glared at her and gave her her bill. So now I am home putting on my best head-to-toe-slimming-black outfit and hopefully i will have no more comment like that today!
Had to get that off my chest!

Just a quicky update for ya
Fairly uneventful weekend in the Handley household – we did get to IKEA though to get Muppet’s crib! So one less thing to do. Once it’s all assembled and everything – you know i will take pics. This weekend starts our birth classes we’ve signed up for – so that should be fairly entertaining. I can’t wait to see Jason in action! (He still thinks his life won’t change that much
And Sunday we are going to the PGA golf tournament at the Belfry – which is near to us. Maybe I can paparazzi some famous peeps!

OH YEA! And at our midwife appt. yesterday – Muppet is officially OVER the growth chart! He is currently ABOVE the ‘above average’ line – grow on with your bad self! Better than being too small I guess. And he has also been head-down for about 4 weeks now – though that could change I guess.
ABOUT 11 WEEKS TO GO!!!!

J & I went to our Village Fair at the park after the Dog Show…

I hit up the bake sales, we played frisbee for awhile (ok – i SO did not realize how out of shape I am), and visited with some co-workers who had a tent set up…

And then I had a massage by my fave Osteopath (and my Doula!), Nav (in the white).

Atleast – that’s what it feels like Muppet has been doing lately. A little DIY perhaps? He has definitely been an active little bee. Mainly at night, though it doesn’t wake me up – yet.
This week has been fairly uneventful – which is good I guess! Jason and I are still quoting our new favorite movie – Knocked Up. Have you seen it? Fantastic. This morning we took Star and DeNiro (in our new quest to make them more sociable) to a Dog Fair in Hockley Heath, about 10 minutes from our house. They had a Homeless Dog Parade, stalls, games, and try-out agility – which I was dying for DeNiro to try. I always though he would be good at that – he will do ANYTHING for a treat you know.

I think Star wanted to have a go as well, but I don’t think she could have made it over even the smallest jumps.
