I realize I am getting old when i need to write these details down so I don’t forget them!
What a fun, busy, LOUD, exhausting Christmas this was. Me Maw and Pe Paw drove in from MD Friday afternoon. We had yummy reubens before everyone left for the night. Richard’s grandmother (aya) died Thursday morning so poor Richard wasn’t there – he was up in NYC with family. Jason worked Saturday (Christmas Eve) so Me Maw, Van and I went up to Creedmoor to meet a friend for lunch (at Vantastics) and view the property. Van was awesome.
Hit up the grocery store for all the Christmas dinner trimmings then home to feed kiddos, drink and get ready for Santa’s visit! I would have to say Christmas Eve after the kids went to bed was the most fun for me. Sitting up with Pam, Jason and Me Maw and attempting to assemble Lucy’s kitchen while drinking/cleaning/eating/stuffing stocking was fun and EXHAUSTING! Santa has a tough job!

We attempting numerous pictures of the kids in matching outfits and in their PJ’s which was hilarious. Ty got up first on Christmas day at 7 (the usual) and he and I went down to check things out. This was the first year Santa didn’t wrap ‘his’ gifts – so Ty heading straight for the 2 ‘Cars 2′ cars he didn’t have; Ramone and someone else. This was a BIG DEAL. We woke up daddy and then Pam, Me Maw and Lucy and started on coffee cake! The kids were going crazy. Lucy’s kitchen was a hit.
Christmas craziness ensued. I need to learn to chill and stop picking up paper and sippy cups and just watch. next year.
Ty also loved his Cars 2 lego set from aunt pam. Jason had many projects like building the cardboard castle that Santa brought! Van took a nap in the swing (somehow?) and was very entertaining playing in the castle (and pulling himself up to peek out the window!) and getting into Lucy’s oven.
I was super excited to give Jason (and myself) a gift of a trip to Vegas in March! We need a mini break
Van will be 10 months old by then and hopefully between aunts and grandparents we can get away from it all for a little while.
We had a great Christmas. Next year… LESS gifts = less stress?! more xanex?
